This lake is on a 100 acre parcel just outside of Oak Run in Knox County, Illinois. The lake was built four or five years ago and stocked with forage fish the first year and sporting fish the second year. It was stocked with fingerling fish only be Illinois DNR agent Ken Russell. Chef Todd and I took a trip out there to monitor the progress. We caught a great mix of Bass, Bluegill, and Crappie. The bass were all in the 10-14″ range…which is right on track. Moreso, they were super fat! Check out the bellies on these largemouth. We caught a dozen or so crappie in about ten minutes. They were in the 8-12″ range and were very aggressive. Bottom line is that this place is progressing perfectly. It is going to be a mega trophy fishery in a few years.
The structure on the lake is awesome too. The south side is all flooded timber. It has a fully rip rapped dam. It also has a giant flat with 4′ depths at the west end of the lake. It also has a full creek channel running right though the middle of it.
It has been a busy few weeks for Land Co. Below are brand new available listings! Highlighted by a 1000 acre tract in Fulton County and a 11,000 lodge in Fairview, Illinois, these listings are some of the best we have ever had. Some recreational, some tillable. A rare tract with a lake, timber, tillable, creek, and CRP. Good luck finding another tract like that. These dont last long. Shared 10 Acre Lake. About ten acres tillable, ten acres CRP. Trails throughout timber. Strict whitetail management with proven trophy success. Outstanding turkey hunting.

Simply one of the coolest setups for waterfowl and fishing that I have seen. This farm has over 100 acres of tillable land, 25+ acres of flooded wetlands, pits and blinds in place, and over 70 acres of water! They have killed over 250 geese this year! Great location east of Canton.

What a cool layout. This property features a huge thicket of mature pine trees that the current owner planted over 20 years ago. It has a 4 acre (or so) field in the back that is surrounded by timber. It would make an unbelievable foodplot. It has mature oaks scattered throughout the property. Here is the link to the listing page… http://www.illinoislandcompany.com/20-acres-knox-county-3/
This property also borders another 16 acres with a home that I have for sale here…http://www.illinoislandcompany.com/16-acres-knox-county/
These parcels are only ten minutes or so from Oak Run. I have owned properties in this area and the whitetail hunting is as good as it gets. You can also access the 3D tours of this property here… http://www.illinoislandcompany.com/knox-20-3d-tours/
Nate Herman of Herman Brothers Pond Management, along with Chef Todd, headed out to the Illinois Land Company 480 Acre listing in Knox County to put a fish management plan in place. This is just another way that Illinois Land Company separates itself from the competition…we market the property in full and transfer it over to the new owner with a full professional management plan in place! It was not the best day in the world to shock but we got what we needed to put a plan in place to create an even better fishery! We netted some monster fish in the process too!
Grand Valley north is a 210 acre parcel for sale in Knox County. It is one of the best trophy whitetail tracts that we have ever had. See for yourself by browsing through some of the 2012 trail cam pics above. We still havent got the giant ten that we are waiting for either.
This is the house that I own and use as a cabin when I hunt on my property in Knox County (210 Acres in Knox County). I am getting more into filming on other properties we have for sale so I dont plan on hunting here as much. It is a sweet setup and has been remodeled from top to bottom…new siding, windows, roofind, entry door, flooring, paint, finished basement, etc… I also built a new 30×40 outbuilding garage with concrete floors. ALl on six acres with a fruit tree orchard!
Check out the video of the opening day dove hunt on the 480 acres in Knox County. This place literally offers everything. These were the worst conditions I have ever dove hunting in yet one of the best hunts. We bought a few GoPros and gave them a shot for this video. I think we will be able to do some cool filming with these in the future!

Check out this piece. It wont last long. It has everything you could want, all in an affordable small parcel. It has a metal building with a half garage/half living quarters setup. There is one pond right now and a new one that should be finished very soon. There is about 12 acres tillable with the balance in timber. Food plots already established. Monster deer taken every year of this farm proving its the location – not the size – of the farm that matters. Click here to see the property listing page and more pics.
