A few of my friends brought their kids down to Otter Creek to do a little fishing off the dock this weekend. They caught some monster fish! The lake management is paying of very well! Ignore the no fishing signs , we let the kids break the rules. My little boy, Wells, and his friend Kinley even got some time to play in the pumpkin patch. Great weekend.
Again, I try to stick to blogs about properties that are for sale. This one is more proof of our management practices that we offer through LandCo. Nate Herman and the crew from InFisherman had an epic day at Otter Creek, our family fishing farm in Fulton County. They caught two lake records including a 9lb Largemouth and a 17lb striper. They also boated a 9lb Walleye in addition to many other trophies. All caught in 20-30′ of water. Nice work guys! If any of you are interested in having us manage your lake, shoot me a message or an email at email@example.com
The boys from Wired to Fish were down at our family lake in Astoria Illinois. My father gave a quick rundown of the history and management of the lake. The place has turned out incredible. The last tournament that I know of took 6 fish 27 pounds to win. Not bad for a lake that is only 5 years old! Thanks a ton Wired to Fish. The video turned out great.
I am a partial owner of this property so I know a lot about this one. It is right next to a bigger lake that my father and I own so we simply don’t fish it enough. We built the lake about four years ago and the design was awesome. It features flooded timber, rip rap shore line, two boat ramps, a forage pond that releases thousands of pounds of bait fish into the lake annually, and much much more. It was originally stocked with northern species fish before we introduced Largemouth. So it is heavy with Small Mouth Bass, Walleye, and Muskie! Super rare for this area. The fish have been strictly managed on a high protein fish food diet. The results have been awesome. A recent pro staff trip out there netted a 20 inch bass weighing over 6 lbs! These fish are in excellent shape. I have attached some pics of some fish from last year. Head over to the listing page for more info.
It was an awful day to fish last night…about 45 degrees and windy after an all morning rain. But it turns out that while I coulnt catch a big fish to save my life, there were plenty big fish to be had. My buddies Frank and Mark took the tournament with a 25lb bag. Pretty impressive. Four of the six boats had over 20 lbs. Sorry the pics are bad…the iphone doesnt do to good at night. You get the point though. These fish were litte footballs. This lake is going to be off the charts in three or four years. Also caught a few bonus smallies, crappie, stripers, and walleye.
Few friends of mine hit the main lake at Otter Creek today. Sounds like the bass are getting a little more aggressive as the water is starting to warm up. Casey said they caught over 50 bass with around 12-15 of them being 3lb+. I think I am going to hit the water next Tuesday so I will follow up with a report. Check out some of the pics above. Nice work fellas (actually the defending champs of last years spring tourney at Otter Creek Preserve)
